A personal commission. The client wanted a portrait of Henry Cavill (the actual Superman from the upcoming movie) but with the classic Superman costume... lot of fun to paint!
I'm a big fan of all the classic superhero costumes, not much of the actual 'more realistic' costumes that we see on nowadays movies... but well, I think I'm an old fashioned and purist artist :P
I'm trying hard to finish all my previous delayed commissions (Dallas bud, you're next!) but I'm doing my best... please be patient with me :nod:

This is great work, and I totally agree. There is something contrived and overly complex about the current take on costumes that - in my opinion - loses the iconic simplicity of the classic designs.
Anyway, You have some truly incredible work in your gallery, well done indeed!

The texture: a sof brush in overlay mode, check the texture tab and chose a fabric tex pattern ;)

Beautiful! Love the bright colors, classic style, classic pose, lighting, everything! And Henry Cavill just looks so much like Superman, it makes my heart glad. <3 Lovely job!
